Q: How can I reach Karimunjawa Island?
The first step is to catch a BOAT FROM JEPARA, where you have two options: a Slow Ferry (Siginjay, 4–5 hours) or a Fast Boat (Bahari, 2-3 hours). Most travelers prefer the Fast Boat, as it is more convenient.
Currently, there are is no boat from Semarang to Karimunjawa.

Q: Are there other ways to get FAST BOAT tickets?
For the Fast Boat "Express Bahari" you can also download their app in the App Store or GooglePlay Store. Unfortunately, the app does not provide sufficient payment options for foreigners, and many of our guests report difficulties with paying in this app.

None of the boats depart every day, so be sure to check the schedule before you go!
Q: Are there planes to Karimunjawa Island?
We regret to inform you that at the moment there are no planes or flights available due to construction work at the Airport Karimunjawa !!!
We all hope there will be flights, soon from Semarang, Surabaya and maybe even Jogjakarta and Bali.
Q: How do I get from the harbor to Ayu Hotel?
Ayu Hotel is conveniently located near the harbor, and many of our guests choose to walk to Ayu Hotel, since it is only 10- 12 minutes. Here is a >KARIMUNJAWA STREETMAP< that shows you how to find Ayu Hotel and with a good overview of most of the things.
However, and if you prefer a taxi, you can easily find one at the harbor and pay a reasonable fare of IDR 50,000 to reach Ayu Hotel.
Q: Are there nice beaches nearby Ayu Hotel?
Yes, there is Pancuran Beach only 15 minutes walking distance from Ayu Hotel. Bobby Beach is 45 minutes to walk or 10 minutes by scooter. Sunset Beach is 20 minutes away by scooter from Ayu Hotel, and Alano Beach is approximately 30 minutes by scooter. To get to the top of the island is you will need around 1 hour by scooter, even it is only 25 km. The roads are sometimes not the best here in Karimunjawa.
Btw... You can rent a scooter for IDR 75.000/day, directly at Ayu Hotel.
Q: Is there an ATM on the island?
There is only one ATM on the Karimunjawa island, and is located in the city center near Alun- Alun.
However, the ATM may not always work or accept your credit card, so it is advisable to bring enough cash money to cover your expenses on the island.
Q: How can I arrange snorkeling or diving?
